The college magazine I designed is named Student life; I named it student life as my college magazine is about the social life of students. I used a graffiti styled font for my headline, as my target audience of teenagers are interested in this, this font appeals to them; drawing in their attention. In my college magazine I used a main colour scheme of dark and light blue with black and white text. I did this because blue goes with both pictures I took and I believe that blue is eye catching to my audience. I also only used three colours on the front cover because if I used anymore I believe it would be to confusing. The image I used for my front is of a student standing next to a poster, giving information about an upcoming party. I believe this would appeal to my audience of a working class background. I placed the image in the centre of the page, so the text could be placed around the image. My image is an a4 size because the readers wanted bigger and better pictures. The text I used is a graffiti style, as these appeals to my audience of a middle class background in a local sixth form. i used black and white for the text around the outside as I didn’t want to much blue on the front cover because it would look boring and unappealing. I promised my readers updates on Facebook and news about the latest upcoming events, as this is what the reader wants to read about. I also made a Facebook page and made a competition on it, as most of my readers have Facebook. My first issue is going to be free, as students aren’t willing to pay for this magazine.
