These images are the image i chose to use for my magzine because they worked well with the theme and they attract my audience into buying my magazine. The first image is a close up of alex aka Lil Buzz, i used a close up with no eye contact because i wanted my audience to have a connection with the new hip hop sensation, i think if he had eye contact as well as a close up it would be intimidating for the readers, the lighting is dark with little light on his face, this time of day is the normal time for my audience to be out, so thats when i shoot, having him up againist this wall creates a barrier between him and the rest of the world, it also adds to the urban environment that my target audience lives in. The second photograph is of Alex sitting on a bench, in an urban environment which again inhances the fact that thats where my audience live. I also chose this picture because it is a dark environment which is where my target audience is offtern found.

audience profiling;
My magazines Demographic profile is of the age between 13 and 22 of the male gender. There social status will be around the B, C1 or C2 as there from a working class background with parents who can afford to but this magazine for them every week and afford for them to be in education. They would still be in education either high school, college or university; are they are individual and like to dress in an indie dress sense, but listen to rap artist such as LIL Wayne. My audience’s Psychographic profile would fall in to Individual group with parents who fall into Succeeders. They would enjoy going down to the skate park to throw some tricks or hanging out with friends, doing their homework and listen two rap artists such as Eminem. The fashion of my audience would wear the latest trends set by hip hop star Lil Wayne and other rap artists. They would shop at shops such as Route one, top man and Asos. They would listen to new rap artist and big name rapper in their free time, and rebelling against society which they are allowed to do. My audience would be able to afford my magazine by either using their parent’s money; my audience would most properly have a Saturday job as well as going to school or college. There would have to have a job though as their parents could afford for them to do what they what.
A day in the life of my audience
· Get up at late, 10 minutes before they leave
· Get ready for school/ college (hair, wash, get dressed, miss breakfast)
· Go to college/ school and work but play with friends
· Have lunch
· Get home from school and go up to room, get into their styled clothes
· Go out with friends or stay in and finish any work or play on Xbox or any type of console
· Eat tea which they parents have made for them
· Watch TV and go to bed late to get up late again.

Feature article;
The second feature spread I am going to do is from NME. The person in this articles is the pop star lily Allen, this article came about the same time as her second album, it was in an attempt to reinvent herself as a new type of artist with a new sound and a new look, hence the short hair and dark make up whereas before she would have been pictured in a bright colours with longer more feminine hair. She had also been shot in more female targeted magazines such as look, Elle, Marie Claire and more. So this is very contrasting to previous magazines she has been featured in. The way she is dressed is a lot more indie than pop which shows her trying to broaden her audience, and target her new album at new people. The dark eyes, hair and clothes contribute to theme and go with the black title which helps lily to reinvent her image. Her body is leaning in towards the camera and therefor the reader, this as well as her eye contact help to engage the reader and involve them in the article. The text and title are framing lily and are fitted around the picture, also there is no background to the image other than white screen which makes her stand out more from the rest of the page as the only colour that features on the page is from her red tartan shirt. A pull quote has been used a s a title to help lily get the message across to the reader which is she not an ‘attention seeker, but I’m just honest’ as lily is famously outspoken and people have often criticized her for saying things for good publicity.

feature article;
The first feature article I am analysing is from an issue of NME. This article is about Tom Clark’s opinion on Alex Turner. The lay out of this article is very simple and easy to read, they have one main image and then two text boxes with question and answer articles in it. These two text boxes are on either side of the page with the image central. There headline is above the text boxes and above the main part of the picture, which makes it stand out as it is the first thing they readers will read. Above the headline is a red box which fits in with the colour scheme of the whole magazine. The layout of this page is set up into rectangles and all the text boxes and image are fit around each other and the text box aren’t over lapping the image it all fits together nicely.
The image used for the background is of Tom Clark standing with a wide stance and arms behind his back. He has eye contact with the camera which makes a connection between the reader and himself, it also engages the reader. The location of the shot is in a white modern building with plenty of windows which makes the image very light and because Tom is wearing black and blue he stands out but still looks casual. The angle of the shot is taken from a worms eye view making him appeal bigger and more powerful, which goes with the headline of ‘Alex Tuner? The dullest man in the world.’
The text is in black and red which matches the magazines colour scheme. The questions that the journalists have asked him are in red standing our form the reply that he answered with, this makes it easier for the reader to see which is the question and which is the answer. They have also pulled a quote from the text and made it into the headline title; this gives the reader an idea of what the article is about, also is connects the headline with the text. They have used a drop cap for the B and used serif which makes the text look formal and ordered. They have back the text with white so it pops out from the background image but it doesn’t look odd as the image is mostly light colours.
