Feature article;
The second feature spread I am going to do is from NME. The person in this articles is the pop star lily Allen, this article came about the same time as her second album, it was in an attempt to reinvent herself as a new type of artist with a new sound and a new look, hence the short hair and dark make up whereas before she would have been pictured in a bright colours with longer more feminine hair. She had also been shot in more female targeted magazines such as look, Elle, Marie Claire and more. So this is very contrasting to previous magazines she has been featured in. The way she is dressed is a lot more indie than pop which shows her trying to broaden her audience, and target her new album at new people. The dark eyes, hair and clothes contribute to theme and go with the black title which helps lily to reinvent her image. Her body is leaning in towards the camera and therefor the reader, this as well as her eye contact help to engage the reader and involve them in the article. The text and title are framing lily and are fitted around the picture, also there is no background to the image other than white screen which makes her stand out more from the rest of the page as the only colour that features on the page is from her red tartan shirt. A pull quote has been used a s a title to help lily get the message across to the reader which is she not an ‘attention seeker, but I’m just honest’ as lily is famously outspoken and people have often criticized her for saying things for good publicity.
